With the exception of 3A, the contenders are emerging from the pack, according to the latest coaches/media rankings.

It's still Cheyenne East and everyone else in 4A. The defending champs are once again the unanimous #1. The rest of the rankings are the same as last week, with Natrona at #2, followed by Gillette, Green River and Kelly Walsh. There's not much on the schedule this week as far as ranked team vs. ranked team games go, however both Casper schools will be on the road this week against an Evanston team that's trying to get back into the swing of things.

It's still anyone's guess to which is the best team in 3A. The top 5 are still ranked, but are now in a different order. Star Valley has claimed the #1 spot for now, while Worland holds at #2 and Jackson at #3. Buffalo drops to #4 and Rawlins is down 1 spot to #5. All teams are in the middle of the conference schedules, in preparation for the upcoming regional tournaments.

The top 4 in 2A stay the same. Wright is still #1, followed by Lyman, Shoshoni and Big Horn. The defending champs visit the Lady Rams this week for conference business. Kemmerer is in at #5, and has a tough game scheduled for Thursday at Lyman.

Not change happened in 1A. Fresh off of winning their own invitational, Kaycee maintains their #1 ranking, and Encampment stays at #2. Little Snake River moves up one spot to #3, bumping Lingle-Ft. Laramie down to #4, while Upton stays at #5.
