The Casper high school basketball teams tipped off the season with tournaments in Riverton and Gillette. The Kelly Walsh boys were in the East-West Challenge in Riverton and won all 3 of their games in convincing fashion. The Trojans crushed Cheyenne South, Sheridan and Laramie giving the Trojans an impressive start to the season. The Kelly Walsh girls were also in that East-West Challenge and went 2-1 over the weekend, with wins over South and Laramie with a defeat to Sheridan. The Natrona boys team took 2 out of 3 in the Gillette tournament over the weekend. The Mustangs rebounded from a huge loss to Gillette on Thursday to beat Rapid City Central on Friday and Cheyenne Central on Saturday. The NC girls were in the Gillette tournament as well and absorbed a huge loss to Gillette, a narrow loss to Rapid City Central and a win over Rock Springs. This weekend, the Casper schools will hook up with the Billings schools. The boy's games will be in Casper and the girls will travel to Montana.
