UNDATED (AP) — Major League Baseball's last two no-hitters have been authored by the same right-handed hurler.

Homer Bailey has fired his second career no-hitter in leading Cincinnati to a 3-0 shutout of San Francisco. Bailey flirted with a perfect game until Gregor Blanco (GREG'-ur BLAHN'-koh) walked leading off the top of the seventh. That was the lone baserunner allowed by Bailey, who entered the game 4-6 with a 3.88 ERA and was winless in his previous three starts. His previous no-hitter came in Pittsburgh last September 28.

Blanco also made the game's final out by tapping a grounder to third baseman Todd Frazier.

Bailey struck out nine and needed 109 pitches to complete the masterpiece, allowing him to join Jim Maloney and Johnny Vander Meer as the only Reds to toss two no-hitters.

Joey Votto (VAH'-toh) hit a sacrifice fly in the first inning to put the Reds ahead to stay. He also scored on Brandon Phillips' two-run homer in the sixth.

It's the first no-hitter thrown against the Giants since Kevin Millwood in April 2003. It's also the first no-hitter thrown at Great American Ballpark.

Also in the majors, Clayton Kershaw tossed a four-hitter and ended Michael Cuddyer's (kuh-DY'-urz) 27-game hitting streak to lead the Los Angeles Dodgers to an easy 8-0 win at Colorado. Yasiel Puig (YAH'-see-ul pweeg) is hitting .443 with eight homers in 27 major league games after going 3-for-5 with a solo shot and two runs scored.

Pittsburgh's nine-game winning streak is over after Jonathan Pettibone held the Pirates to a run and three hits over 5 2/3 innings of Philadelphia's 3-1 win at PNC Park. Ryan Howard was in an 0-for-22 slump before hitting an RBI single during the Phillies' three-run sixth.

The Pirates still lead the NL Central by two games over St. Louis after Jered Weaver allowed a run and six hits in seven innings of the Angels' 5-1 win over the Cardinals. Albert Pujols (POO'-hohlz) went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in his first game against Redbirds since leaving the team for a free-agent package with Los Angeles.

Andrelton Simmons, Brian McCann and Chris Johnson drove in two runs apiece as Atlanta rocked Miami 11-3. Justin Upton had three hits and scored three times in the Braves' fourth straight win, which gives them a seven-game lead in the NL East.

Juan Francisco snapped a scoreless tie with a two-run double while Milwaukee was scoring four times in the eighth to beat Washington 4-0. The Brewers erupted after Stephen Strasburg held them to three hits while striking out eight in seven shutout innings.

Patrick Corbin had been 9-0 with a 2.20 ERA before surrendering five runs in six-plus innings of Arizona's fifth straight loss, a 9-1 drubbing by the New York Mets. The game was tied 1-1 until Omar Quintanilla (kihn-tah-NEE'-uh) and Eric Young each collected two RBIs in the Mets' seven-run seventh.

John Lackey was sharp in Boston's 4-1 win over San Diego, limiting the Padres to one run and six hits in eight innings. Brandon Snyder opened the scoring with a three-run double in the fourth to support Lackey, who's won his last four decisions after opening the season 2-5.

Boston's lead in the AL East is up to 3 ½ games over Baltimore after Adam Dunn and Conor Gillaspie homered in the White Sox's 5-2 win against the Orioles. John Danks allowed two runs and six hits in seven-plus innings as Chicago ended the Birds' four-game winning streak.

Robinson Cano (kuh-NOH') homered for the fourth time in three games, a three-run blast that put the New York Yankees ahead 7-1 in the seventh inning of a 7-3 win at Minnesota. Alberto Gonzalez also had three RBIs and Phil Hughes worked seven innings as the Yankees won their second straight since a five-game skid.

David Price made a triumphant return from the disabled list by striking out 10 while scattering three hits in seven innings of Tampa Bay's 8-0 shutout of Houston. Desmond Jennings was 3-for-5 with a two-run homer and four RBIs for the Rays.

Cleveland still tops the AL Central by a half-game over Detroit after Asdrubal (as-DROO'-bul) Cabrera and Carlos Santana each drove in two runs to help the Indians beat the Royals 6-5 in Kansas City. Jason Giambi's RBI double put the Indians ahead 6-4 in the seventh inning of their fifth consecutive win.

Torii Hunter capped his four-hit night by providing the tiebreaking single in the eighth of the Tigers' 7-6 triumph in Toronto. Miguel Cabrera hit a three-run homer for the Tigers, who erased a 4-0 deficit and ended the Blue Jays' seven-game home winning streak.

Derek Norris launched a go-ahead, three-run homer in the eighth as Oakland rallied to beat the Cubs 8-7 and take a half-game lead over Texas in the AL West. Josh Donaldson and Chris Young also homered to help the A's overcome Alfonso Soriano's three-run blast.

Kendrys Morales homered twice and collected six RBIs as Seattle pummeled Texas 9-2. Joe Saunders had been 0-7 with a 9.91 ERA in seven starts lifetime at Rangers Ballpark before limiting Texas to two runs and 10 hits over 6 2/3 innings.

TORONTO (AP) — Detroit Tigers pitcher Rick Porcello says he's appealing the six-game suspension he received from Major League Baseball on Tuesday for hitting Ben Zobrist with a pitch during Sunday's game against Tampa Bay.

Porcello was also fined an undisclosed amount for the incident, which was seen as retaliation for an inside pitch by Rays closer Fernando Rodney to Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera the previous day. Porcello hit Zobrist with a high, inside pitch in the first inning of Sunday's game against the Rays. Both benches were warned, but Porcello was not ejected.

He is allowed to pitch until the appeal is heard, opening the possibility for Porcello to make his next scheduled start Friday against Cleveland.

UNDATED (AP) — Baltimore has acquired right-handed pitcher Scott Feldman from the Chicago Cubs in a multi-player deal.

The Cubs also sent catcher Steve Clevenger to the Orioles in exchange for right-handed pitchers Jake Arrieta (ehr-ee-EHT-uh) and Pedro Strop as well as two international signing bonus slots.

Feldman went 7-6 with a 3.46 ERA in 15 starts this season.

Strop has battled a back strain this year, going 0-3 with a 7.25 ERA. He's expected to join the Cubs later this week, while Arrieta will be assigned to Triple-A Iowa.

The Cubs also sent struggling reliever Carlos Marmol (mahr-MOHL') to the Dodgers for veteran reliever Matt Guerrier (guh-GEER').

— Tampa Bay's Evan Longoria returned to the lineup Tuesday as the team's designated hitter after missing three straight games with plantar fasciitis in his right foot. Rays manager Joe Maddon says he's not sure when Longoria will play third base again.

— Minnesota Twins slugger Josh Willingham has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a torn meniscus in his left knee. Willingham has struggled this season, hitting .224 with 10 homers and 37 RBIs.

— Tigers manager Jim Leyland says Anibal (AH'-nih-bahl) Sanchez will come off the disabled list Saturday to start at Cleveland. Sanchez has been out since June 16 with a strained right shoulder.

— The Colorado Rockies have placed outfielder Dexter Fowler on the 15-day disabled list with a bone bruise on his right hand. Fowler was hitting .291 with 10 homers in 70 games before suffering the injury against Boston last week.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Alex Rodriguez went 0-for-2 for the Class-A Charleston RiverDogs against Rome on Tuesday, his first game since undergoing left hip surgery in January.

A-Rod played three innings at third base, hit into a double play in his first at-bat and struck out looking in his second. Rome also tested Rodriguez in the field, laying down two successful bunt singles down the third-base line.

Rodriguez has been working out at the Yankees' spring training complex in Florida this year and says he'll probably need all 20 rehabilitation games allowed to get ready before returning to the Yankees.
