The Colorado Rockies posted a rare shutout at home over the New York Yankees 2-0 Tuesday night at Coors Field. The Rockies got all their runs on a Carlos Gonzalez 2-run home run in the sixth inning. Pitcher Jorge De La Rosa pitched 6 scoreless innings. He allowed 3 hits, walked one and struck out 2 and is 3-0 against the Yankees. Game 2 of that series is tonight.

In American Legion baseball, the Casper Oilers defeated Wheatland 13-2 in 7 innings Tuesday night at Mike Lansing Field. Dan Reese who is a University of Northern Colorado signee had 2 hits and a couple of walks. Cam Huber with a couple of hits and 2 RBI's as the Oilers up their record to 8-1 overall. The Oilers will be home to meet Cheyenne Post 6 on Friday at 7:00pm.

In the NBA playoffs, Memphis evened their Western Conference semifinal series with Oklahoma City posting a 99-93 road win. Mike Conley led the Grizzlies with 26 points. Oklahoma City was led by Kevin Durant with 36.

In the Eastern Conference semifinals, New York crushed Indiana 105-79 to even that series at 1 game apiece.Carmelo Anthony had a monster game for the Knicks, throwing in 32 points. The Pacers were led by Paul George with 20 points.

In the Stanley Cup Playoffs in the Eastern Conference, the New York Islanders the 8th seed beat top seed Pittsburgh 6-4 to even that series at 2 games apiece. The 7th seed in the east, Ottawa has a 3 game to one lead over Montreal with a 3-2 win last night.

In the Western Conference, San Jose became the first team to advance to the 2nd round as they swept Vancouver 4 games to none. The final Tuesday night was 4-3. Vancouver was seeded 3rd. Top seed Chicago blanked Minnesota 3-0 to take a 3 games to one lead in that series.
