The Casper Cutthroats defeated Loveland 11-6 Monday night at Mike Lansing Field. Austin Rue had 2 triples in the game, and Jordan Friend homered and drove in 3 runs. It was also announced after some calculations, the Cutthroats will make the playoffs in their first year in the Mountain Collegiate League, no matter what happens tonight in the team's regular season finale in Cheyenne. It's a matter of where the Cutthroats are seeded, either 1 or 2. If they're seeded one, they'll play at home on Saturday with the if necessary game 3 in the best of 3 series on Sunday. If they're the number 2 seed, they'll be home on Thursday.

In American Legion baseball, the Casper Oilers are at home tonight hosting Rock Springs at Lansing Field. The Oilers are 34-31 and Rock Springs comes in at 24-13. The Oilers are on the road Wednesday at Cheyenne and then host Cheyenne on Friday.
