The 4A West Regional Girls and Boys Tournament got underway Thursday in Evanston. In the boys tournament, Natrona who came in with a 3-11 record and the sixth seed knocked off third seed Green River 2-0 to earn a state tournament berth. The Mustangs will play second seed Kelly Walsh this afternoon.

In the 4A West Tournament, Kelly Walsh will play in the state tournament next week as they held off Rock Springs 3-2. The Lady Trojans scored the first 3 goals of the match with Rock Springs scoring the last 2. So KW will play Green River at 5pm. Natrona who earned a first round bye as the number one seed and automatic state tournament berth. The 3A Regional Soccer Tournaments will start today in Lander and Worland.

Regional track and field meets will be held today and Saturday. The 4A West Regional will be held at Kelly Walsh. The state meet will be held next Thursday through Saturday also at Kelly Walsh. For the latest in track and soccer results, go to wyopreps.com.

In junior college basketball, former Casper College Head Coach Pat Rafferty was named the new Head Coach at Central Wyoming in Riverton. Rafferty, a Buffalo native, was the director of basketball operations at Texas Arlington. Prior to that he was the head coach at Grayson Junior College in Texas until the program was disbanded. Rafferty coached at Casper College from 1986-1988 and was 47-23 in that time period.

The Wyoming Cavalry Indoor Football team is back in action Saturday night when they host Tri-Cities, Washington. The Cav's are 1-7 on the year and Tri-Cities 3-6. The only win for the Cav's this year has been against Tri-Cities. The Cavalry lost to the Colorado Ice 51-41 last Friday night. Game time is 7:00pm at the Casper Events Center.

The Colorado Rockies lost to the New York Yankees 3-1 Thursday afternoon at Coors Field. The game was held up by a 2-hour rain delay. The Rockies lost 2 of 3 to the Yankees as well as Tampa Bay in this latest home stand. Colorado will be in St. Louis to start a weekend series with the Cardinals tonight.
