Wyoming High School Volleyball Regional Tournaments 2014

It's post-season time for High School Volleyball.

Regional Tournaments are held to determine which teams are the best in the east and west, as well as determine which teams will go to the state tournament, and which will stay at home.

4A East at Sheridan:

#1 Cheyenne East and #2 Cheyenne Central have earned a free pass on the first day of competition, and have automatically qualified for the state tournament.

Although Laramie and Cheyenne South split conference head-to-head games, Laramie beat South at the Riverton Invitational in late August, thus the Lady Plainsmen get the #5 seed.

Friday, October 31:

#6 Cheyenne South vs. #3 Gillette - 11am

#5 Laramie vs. #4 Sheridan - 1pm

South/Gillette winner vs. Laramie/Sheridan winner - 4:30pm Winner qualifies for the state tournament.

South/Gillette loser vs. Laramie/Sheridan loser - 6:30pm LOSER OUT!

4:30pm loser vs. 6:30pm winner - 8:30pm LOSER OUT! Winner qualifies for the state tournament.

Saturday, November 1:

Friday 8:30pm winner vs. #1 Cheyenne East - 10am

Friday 4:30pm winner vs. #2 Cheyenne Central - Noon

10am loser vs. Noon loser - 2pm 3rd Place

10am winner vs Noon winner - 4pm 1st Place

4A West at Green River:

Still trying to break the tie between Kelly Walsh and Natrona for #1 and #2 seeds.

Natrona and Kelly Walsh have earned a free pass on the first day of competition, and have automatically qualified for the state tournament.

Green River gets #5 seed over Rock Springs, because when the 2 teams played their head-to-head conference games, GR beat RS in 3 games, whereas RS beat GR in 5 games.

Friday, October 31:

#6 Rock Springs vs. #3 Riverton - 11am

#5 Green River vs. #4 Evanston - 1pm

Rock Springs/Riverton winner vs. Green River/Evanston winner - 4:30pm Winner qualifies for the state tournament.

Rock Springs/Riverton loser vs. Green River/Evanston loser - 6:30pm LOSER OUT!

4:30pm loser vs. 6:30pm winner - 8:30pm LOSER OUT! Winner qualifies for the state tournament.

Saturday, November 1:

Although Burns and Pine Bluffs split conference head-to-head games, Burns beat PB at the Potter-Dix, NE Invitational, which gives the Lady Broncs the tie-breaker, for the #2 SE seed.

Lusk gets #4 SE seed over Saratoga due to having a better record vs. common opponents.
