T-Birds Split with Central Wyoming
The Casper College basketball teams split their games with Central Wyoming from Riverton on Saturday. The T-Bird women, who have already clinched a #1 seed in the upcoming Region IX tournament lost to CWC 68-65 as Kiara Skinner hit the game winning 3 pointer as time expired. Brianna Troop had 13 for C.C. who drops to 23-7 overall and 12-2 in the Region IX North. Central Wyoming improved to 19-10 overall and 10-4 in league play. The Lady T-Birds will be at Western Nebraska on Tuesday night.
The Casper College men picked up a big win over Central Wyoming on Saturday 93-90 as Hakeem Rogers paced the Birds with 28 points. With the win, C.C. clinched 4th place in the Region IX North at 8-6 with an overall record. That allows the T-Birds to host Western Wyoming in the first round of the Region 9 tournament. This year, the first round games will be held at campus sites with the 4 winners from the North will be joined by the 4 winners for the South in Powell for the conclusion of the tournament. Casper finishes the regular season on Tuesday in Scottsbluff to meet Western Nebraska.
