UNDATED (AP) — The San Jose Sharks are the first NHL team to advance to the conference semifinals after completing a four-game sweep of Vancouver.

Patrick Marleau (MAHR'-loh) scored a power-play goal at 13:18 of overtime to complete the Sharks' 4-3 win over the Canucks.

Alexandre Burrows and Alex Edler tallied 1:51 apart midway through the third period to put the Canucks ahead 3-2, but Joe Pavelski's second power-play goal of the game tied the game with 4:27 left in regulation.

Joe Thornton set up the tying and winning goals to finish with three assists.

The seventh and eighth seeds in the Eastern Conference quarterfinals are proving they belong in the playoffs. The No. 8 New York Islanders are tied with top-seeded Pittsburgh at two games apiece, while the seventh-seeded Ottawa Senators enjoy a 3-1 series lead.

John Tavares provided the game-winner with 9:49 remaining while the Isles were netting the last three goals in a 6-4 win over the Penguins. New York trailed 4-3 until Mark Streit (stryt) notched his second goal of the night, about six minutes before Tavares put the Islanders in front. Casey Cizikas (sih-ZEE'-kuhs) capped the scoring by sliding a weak shot past Marc-Andre Fleury, who finished with just 18 saves and has allowed 14 goals over the last three games.

Game 5 is Thursday in Pittsburgh.

Kyle Turris scored at 2:32 of overtime to give the Senators a 3-2 comeback win over Montreal. The Canadiens carried a 2-0 lead into the third period and were moments away from tying the series until Turris assisted on Cory Conacher's goal with 23 seconds left in regulation.

Mike Zibanejad (MEE'-kuh zih-BAH'-nah-zhahd) started the Senators' rally by beating Carey Price midway through the third period.

Price left the game with an injury after the third period.

Ottawa can close out the series Thursday in Montreal.

Chicago's 3-0 win at Minnesota gives the top-seeded Blackhawks a 3-1 lead in the Western Conference quarterfinals. Patrick Sharp scored in each of the first two periods before Bryan Bickell made it a three-goal game with 7:14 remaining.

Corey Crawford turned back 25 shots in his second career playoff shutout, while helping the Blackhawks kill off the Wild's six power plays.

The Wild had another goalie get hurt when Josh Harding's injury forced Darcy Kuemper into action after the first intermission.

The Hawks can close out the series at home on Thursday.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — The Buffalo Sabres have hired Ron Rolston as head coach on a permanent basis. Rolson led the Sabres to a 15-11-5 mark after replacing Lindy Ruff in February.

NEW YORK (AP) — Montreal's P.K. Subban (soo-BAN'), Pittsburgh's Kris Letang (leh-TANG') and Minnesota's Ryan Suter (SOO'-tur) are finalists for the Norris Trophy, given annually to the NHL's top defenseman. Each is a Norris finalist for the first time.
